The challenge of getting our marketing up and running.

Why is the marketing work so difficult to do?

It’s not because you don’t know what to do.

It’s not because you don’t want to do it.

It’s not because you are lazy.

It’s because marketing work requires emotional labour.

Showing up and trying to sell something, especially something we created, activates the imposter syndrome.

It makes us feel like a fraud.

And we don’t like that feeling.

So, we procrastinate.

We hide behind perfectionism and say “I will do it later”.

We write and create drafts but never post them.

How do we get over this challenge and start showing up consistently?

The key to overcoming imposter syndrome is social camaraderie.

When we are surrounded by peers who are pushing us forward and keeping us accountable.

What you can do is to find an accountability partner and have them there either on Zoom or in person while you sit down and work on your marketing.

It shifts the challenge from being a “me” challenge to a “we” challenge.

We are also creating a 2-week marketing bootcamp, starting in April, to help you get your marketing up and running.
