There was a time when livelihood was dependent on agriculture and people moved across remote areas to find new lands to cultivate. Too many people in too less an area just didn’t make sense.
Then came the industrial revolution and things started shifting for a couple of hundreds of years. People started concentrating in urban centres in search of employment and better services.
Now, I think, we are moving towards another shift.
Life in the city is as unproductive as it can be. A lot of unnecessary time wasting activities like commute are a norm here. It’s a luxury to find your own space here.
In the next 10–20 years, your physical location is not going to matter for your professional success. Tools like zoom can help you connect personally with anyone across the globe. And they are going to get better.
