Why everyone is after Zoom’s life?

Zoom is a threat to the dominance of Facebook and other Zuckerberg’s puppets and subsequently it becomes a threat to governments which have come up through Facebook or WhatsApp.

This article may sound like a conspirational theory. I will try to address my concerns in as logical an approach as possible.

1. I love Zoom

I have been using Zoom for over 3 years now, and it has made my life wonderful. I have taught through Zoom, attended workshops and webinars on Zoom and collaborated with my team and my clients through this wonderful tool.

I was recently filling a survey on Zoom by Hiten Shah [Survey link] and the question on how would I feel if I could no longer use Zoom made me skip a heartbeat.

2. Yes, Zoom has its issues

Just like any other mass technological service, Zoom has some issues that they are patching up. If you lock your meeting and enable waiting room, most of your privacy issues are taken care of. If you sign in through Google, then the chances of your account being hacked are reduced to zero.

3. Why is the government so vocally declaring Zoom as unsafe and a threat?

I read the news, which I try to avoid as much as possible and there was no significant tangible reason put forward by the MHA.

4. Now, time for my controversial take on this announcement.

Zoom lets you connect with the people that matter to you, which are not so many, and does not have traps like newsfeeds and stories to keep making you come back to it. Unlike WhatsApp, Instagram or Facebook. This leads to more meaningful conversations and social interaction. The more you use it, the less are the chances of using the “Entire world is here” platforms from the Zuckerberg kingdom.

And as you spend less time there, the earnings of FACEBOOK drops. Moreover, all the ill-minded campaigns that political parties conduct on the FACEBOOK tools become less effective.

You may think that I am crazy, but having the people get over their slot-machine addiction is not good for a lot of big businesses and people in the pre-covid status quo.

5. Should I use Zoom?

I hope you do. I have looked for alternatives and there is none that even comes close. The company will definitely make the product secure as Google and others have done over the last 20 years.

I believe, and also I hope, that Zoom does not go away, because then we are again left with the advertising run supposedly free slot-machine addictive unsocial media run by the most unsocial person in the whole world.
